Several higher education institutions in the Dominican Republic held graduation ceremonies this week, marking significant academic milestones for hundreds of students.
The Instituto Especializado de Estudios Superiores Loyola (IEESL) celebrated its 18th graduation ceremony, awarding degrees to 219 new professionals. The cohort included 81 women and 138 men specializing in various engineering and technology fields, such as Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Networks and Telecommunications, as well as technical degrees in Mechatronics and Software Development.
Meanwhile, the Universidad Tecnológica del Cibao Oriental (UTECO) held its 47th ordinary graduation, conferring degrees upon 539 new professionals. The ceremony was notable for celebrating UTECO’s recent achievement of institutional autonomy, granted by the National Council of Higher Education, Science and Technology (CONESCyT) following favorable evaluations. The event featured remarks from Minister of Energy and Mines Joel Santos, who encouraged graduates to apply their knowledge to the country’s development.
