Dominiek Lootens-Stael calls for enforcement of Brussels language laws

Flemish Parliament member Dominiek Lootens-Stael of Vlaams Belang has highlighted ongoing issues regarding the violation of language legislation in Brussels. Lootens-Stael expressed concern that Dutch speakers frequently encounter language barriers when attempting to access services at municipal desks, political offices, postal services, and hospitals.

He characterized the lack of Dutch-language assistance as a result of both ignorance and unwillingness, noting that despite increasing knowledge of the language, compliance with existing laws remains poor. Lootens-Stael stated that he regularly confronts the responsible minister in the Flemish Parliament regarding these failures and continues to report specific instances of inadequate service in Brussels' public sectors.
