Dominika Chorosińska sparks Sejm controversy after barking during speech

Dominika Chorosińska, a Law and Justice (PiS) MP and former Minister of Culture, has sparked significant controversy after making barking sounds in the Sejm during a speech by Deputy Prime Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz. Rather than apologizing, Chorosińska defended her actions on social media, stating that the only language understood by Donald Tusk and Kosiniak-Kamysz is “barking dogs from Kłodzko,” a reference to a local scandal.

The incident has drawn criticism from across the political spectrum. PiS Vice President Tobiasz Bocheński issued an apology, stating such behavior should not occur, while Kosiniak-Kamysz described the incident as a sign of “political degradation.” Members of the parliamentary ethics committee are considering potential disciplinary action.

The scandal has also reignited discussions regarding Chorosińska’s political background and her brief tenure as Minister of Culture in Mateusz Morawiecki’s final government. Former Prime Minister Morawiecki commented on the matter, noting that while he would not have used such methods of expression, he does not regret his previous decision to nominate her to the ministerial position.
