Dominika Gottová skips mother's funeral amid family dispute

The death of former ballerina Antonie Zacpalová, mother of Dominika Gottová, has sparked significant controversy regarding family relations and funeral arrangements. Zacpalová passed away at age 91 in a Prague nursing home.

Dominika Gottová, who resides in Finland, has announced she will not attend the funeral in Prague. She cited severe psychological distress and financial difficulties, stating she needs funds for medication. While friends reportedly offered financial assistance for travel, Gottová maintains she cannot manage the trip.

A longtime friend of the deceased, Jitka Vašutová, has publicly criticized Gottová, accusing her of being financially exploitative toward her mother during her final years. Vašutová claimed that Zacpalová had even canceled insurance due to financial pressure from her daughter.

Due to the situation, a family acquaintance has stepped in to organize and pay for the funeral services, preventing the need for a state-funded social funeral. A private ceremony is expected to take place later to allow Gottová to say goodbye in private.
