Dominikka Thomas sentenced to 30 months for straw gun purchase

Dominikka Thomas, 27, has been sentenced to 30 months in federal prison for making a straw purchase of a firearm. Thomas pleaded guilty to purchasing a gun on behalf of Lavoris McGee, who was legally barred from possessing a firearm due to a previous conviction.

In addition to the prison term, Thomas was ordered to serve three years of supervised release. She also admitted to lying under oath regarding the transaction. The investigation was conducted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) with assistance from the U.S. Marshals Service and the Leflore County Sheriff’s Department.
