Dominykas Dirkstys fined 15,000 euros after injury during UTMA 19 fight

During the UTMA 19 tournament at Kaunas Žalgirio Arena, fighter Dominykas Dirkstys suffered a re-injury to his previously operated left metacarpal bone during the second round of his match against Sergejus Maslobojevas. Following the injury, Dirkstys chose to stop the fight to prioritize his health, resulting in a technical knockout victory for Maslobojevas.

Following the match, Dirkstys left the arena without attending the official press conference. In response to this breach of contract, UTMA organizers imposed a 15,000 euro fine on the fighter. UTMA head Viktoras Gecas noted that while the event set a new combat sports record with 15,000 spectators, the sudden conclusion of the main event left many questions regarding the fighter's immediate departure.
