Domènec Moli, influential Catalan journalist and publisher, dies at 93
Domènec Moli, a prominent journalist, writer, and publisher, has passed away at the age of 93. Born in Figueres in 1933, Moli became a central figure in the cultural life of the Garrotxa region after settling in Olot in 1958.
Throughout his career, Moli served as editor-in-chief of the weekly publication ‘Arriba España!’ and contributed to various local publications, including ‘Canigó’ and the Girona-based newspaper ‘Los Sitios’. He was deeply connected to the historic Aubert printing house in Olot, eventually taking over leadership of the company.
Moli was recognized for his passion for bibliophilia and his ability to treat books as works of art. In 2010, he received the ‘Ales a la Cultura’ distinction from the Olot Institute of Culture. He is remembered by colleagues and local officials for his irreverent spirit, his precise writing, and his significant contributions to the cultural landscape of both Figueres and Olot.
