Dompé hosts exhibition in L’Aquila marking 130 years of history

The Fondazione Dompé has launched an exhibition titled “Dompé a L’Aquila. Dall’Italia al mondo” at the Palazzo dell’Emiciclo to celebrate the company’s 130-year history. The exhibition traces the pharmaceutical firm’s evolution from its origins as the Farmacia Centrale in Milan during the late 19th century to its current international operations.

A central focus of the display is the company’s presence in L’Aquila, which began in 1993 with the establishment of the Campo di Pile production hub. This facility currently employs over 300 people and possesses a production capacity of 700 million doses annually, distributed to more than 40 countries. The site is also a key center for producing drugs based on Nerve Growth Factor (NGF), a protein discovered by Nobel laureates Rita Levi-Montalcini and Stanley Cohen.

The exhibition features historical documents, photographs, and multimedia content. It is open to the public with free admission until October 2, 2026.
