Don Ciro Russo to transfer from Marano to Procida

Don Ciro Russo will leave the San Ludovico d’Angiò parish in Marano to take on a new pastoral role in Procida, effective November 1. The transfer follows a diocesan decree regarding the rotation of parish assignments.

During his 25-year tenure, Don Ciro became a significant social and pastoral figure, notably establishing a parish theater that serves as a community hub for various generations. His departure has caused disappointment and distress among local parishioners, some of whom have considered organizing a torchlight procession to express their support.

Don Salvatore Melluso, who has previously served at San Ludovico, is expected to succeed him. While the community faces a period of transition, the transfer is noted as part of the standard administrative practices within the Church.
