Don Diamont credits Heather Tom for helping him land new soap role

Actor Don Diamont has credited longtime colleague Heather Tom with helping him secure a new role following his abrupt departure from ‘The Young and the Restless’ in 2009.

During an appearance on the ‘Soapy’ podcast, Diamont explained that after his character, Brad Carlton, was written out of the show, Tom discreetly reached out to ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ showrunner Bradley Bell. She reportedly advocated for Diamont to be cast as a love interest, which facilitated his transition to the new series.

Diamont, who has spent 40 years with CBS daytime, described Tom’s support as “the greatest blessing of my professional life.” Since joining ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ in 2009, Diamont has portrayed Bill Spencer Jr., appearing alongside Tom, who plays Katie Logan. The two characters have since become a central couple on the program.
