Don Francisco returns to Miami studios for new television program
Chilean presenter Don Francisco, born Mario Kreutzberger, is returning to the Miami studios where he hosted the record-breaking variety show ‘Sábado Gigante’ for a new television project. At 85 years old, he will host ‘Gigantes con Don Francisco’, a series of special programs premiering on October 11 via TelevisaUnivision.
The new format aims to blend nostalgia with contemporary life, featuring interviews with prominent Latin celebrities. The first guest will be Mexican singer Lucero, with subsequent guests including Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi and Mexican goalkeeper Guillermo ‘Memo’ Ochoa.
Don Francisco’s original program, ‘Sábado Gigante’, holds a Guinness World Record as the longest-running variety show in television history, having aired in Chile since 1962 and in the United States from 1986 until its conclusion in 2015. The presenter noted that the return is an opportunity to connect past memories with current experiences.
