Don Johnson receives community support after working at 81 to fund wife's cancer treatment

Don Johnson, an 81-year-old man, has gained widespread attention after a doorbell camera captured him struggling to deliver heavy luggage to a home in Texas. Johnson had been working up to 14 hours a day as a delivery driver to cover the rising medical and medication costs for his wife, Josephine, who is battling aggressive cancer.

The couple, married for 57 years, had moved in with their daughter to manage financial difficulties. Johnson reported that he faced challenges finding traditional employment due to his age, leading him to work as a luggage courier using his own vehicle.

The homeowner, Erin Howell, noticed Johnson’s physical struggle on her security camera while he was delivering her lost luggage. Moved by his situation, Howell decided to mobilize community support and launch a fundraising effort to assist the couple with their financial burdens.
