Don Juan Municipal Board begins street naming project

The Don Juan Municipal Board in Monte Plata has officially begun the installation of street names throughout the municipal district. This initiative follows several years of development, including public consultations, community assemblies, and field surveys conducted in coordination with various institutions.

Municipal Director Leoncito José (Tito) stated that the project aims to strengthen territorial organization and facilitate the identification of homes and businesses. The implementation will occur in phases, starting with a ten-day period in the urban zone before expanding to sectors such as Payabo, La Jagua, and El Bosque.

Local authorities emphasized that organized street nomenclature will improve the delivery of public and private services. Specifically, it is expected to enable faster response times for emergency services, including the 9-1-1 National Emergency and Security System, ambulances, firefighters, and the National Police. The Board has requested that citizens protect the new signage and report any acts of vandalism.
