Don McLean announces 2027 UK and Ireland farewell tour
Singer-songwriter Don McLean has announced an eight-date farewell tour scheduled for May 2027, covering locations across the United Kingdom and Ireland. The 81-year-old artist, known for the 1971 hit ‘American Pie’, intends to perform music from his entire career, including his latest 2024 album, ‘American Boys’.
The tour will begin on May 11, 2027, at Glasgow's Royal Concert Hall. Subsequent stops include Belfast, Dublin, Birmingham, Bristol, Manchester, and Gateshead. The tour is set to conclude on May 22 at London's Royal Albert Hall, the venue where McLean made his UK debut 55 years ago.
McLean stated that he chose the Royal Albert Hall for his final performance because it was the first venue that felt like it belonged to him. At this time, it remains unconfirmed whether the farewell tour will include dates in other countries, such as the United States.
