Don Quiff secures 120,000-euro investment on Die Höhle der Löwen

The startup Don Quiff has secured a 120,000-euro investment from investors Judith Williams and Frank Thelen during an episode of the German television program ‘Die Höhle der Löwen’. In exchange for the funding, the founders, including Salzburg-based hairdresser Robert Tarquini, agreed to a 30 percent equity stake, which was higher than their initial 20 percent ask.

Don Quiff produces a men’s hair wax formulated with caffeine, biotin, and ectoin, designed to style hair while potentially combating hair loss. The founders reported generating 40,000 euros in sales via TikTok shops prior to the broadcast. While some investors praised the product’s performance, Carsten Maschmeyer declined to participate, citing a lack of clinical studies to support the product’s hair growth claims.
