Don Quijote to open new Okayama Nishi-Daiji store in September

Don Quijote will open its Okayama Nishi-Daiji store on September 15, 2026, located within the Tenmaya Happys Okayama Nishi-Daiji Mall in Higashi Ward, Okayama City. This marks the retailer's first appearance in Higashi Ward and its first new location in Okayama Prefecture in approximately 10 years.

The 2,172-square-meter facility will operate from 9:00 to 24:00, offering a wide range of products including food, daily necessities, electronics, apparel, toys, and cosmetics. The store plans to emphasize its ‘bargain corners’ for daily essentials and will feature a specialized cosmetics section targeting local families and students, including Korean cosmetics and 45 brands of contact lenses. Additionally, a protein section will carry over 25 brands.

To integrate with the local culture, the store will feature a limited-edition ‘Donpen’ mascot design inspired by Momotaro, a symbol of Okayama. Local merchandise, such as T-shirts featuring Okayama dialects and collaborations with local professional basketball and table tennis teams, will also be available.
