Don Toliver concert ends early after man detained with handgun

A Don Toliver concert at Houston’s Toyota Center ended prematurely on August 11 after a man was detained for attempting to bring a handgun into the venue. The incident occurred during the rapper’s Octane Tour.

According to the Houston Police Department, security personnel flagged a 30-year-old man after a weapon triggered a metal detector. An officer responded and took the individual into custody, subsequently transporting him to the Harris County Jail.

The abrupt conclusion occurred around 10:40 p.m., shortly after Toliver performed “Kryptonite” and “Too Many Nights.” While fans initially believed the pause was a standard break, the house lights were turned on and an announcer instructed the audience to exit the building, stating, “Sorry for the inconvenience. The show is over.” The rapper had approximately three songs remaining in his scheduled setlist at the time of the disruption.
