Don Toliver joins 2027 Grammy Best New Artist entry list

Don Toliver has been included on the entry list of 331 artists vying for a Best New Artist nomination at the 2027 Grammy Awards. His inclusion follows a career milestone involving five consecutive top-10 albums on the Billboard 200 dating back to 2020, including his first No. 1 album, ‘Octane’.

The Grammy Academy’s rules for this category do not cap the number of previous releases an artist may have, but screening committees evaluate whether an artist achieved a high degree of industry impact prior to the eligibility year.

Other notable developments in the category include the Academy increasing the entry limit from three to four attempts. This rule change allowed artists such as Ken Carson and Ella Langley to remain eligible after three previous entries. While Toliver made the list, Megan Moroney, a previous CMA New Artist of the Year winner, was not included on the entry list.
