Donald A. Thomas inaugurates IEM Innovation Park in Kolkata

NASA astronaut, scientist, and engineer Dr. Donald A. Thomas inaugurated the IEM Innovation Park at the Institute of Engineering & Management (IEM) in Kolkata.

The park is designed as a collaborative ecosystem to support students, researchers, and innovators in transitioning ideas from initial concepts to prototypes and technology-driven products with real-world applications. The facility aims to integrate interdisciplinary research, creativity, and entrepreneurship.

During the event, Dr. Thomas visited various Centres of Excellence within the park to review student-led projects and technology-based innovations. He interacted with young innovators and observed project demonstrations, engaging with work spanning materials science, space exploration, and human spaceflight.
