Netflix to develop live-action PUBG series led by Donald Glover

Netflix is developing a live-action series based on the popular battle royale video game PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG). The project is being produced in partnership with Krafton, the South Korean developer of the franchise.

Donald Glover is set to take on multiple roles, including starring in the series, directing, writing, and serving as an executive producer. His brother, Stephen Glover, will also participate as a writer and executive producer. The production team includes Michael Schaefer of NEON TV, Fam Udeorji of Gilga, and Taeseok Jang and Sujin Lee from Krafton’s entertainment division, LV3H.

As the game lacks a central narrative campaign, the creative team will have the opportunity to develop original characters and storylines around the survival-based format. While the project is currently in development, no official release date, plot details, or additional casting information have been announced.
