Donald J. Leiterman Charged in Washington for Possessing Altered Handgun

On June 8, Island County sheriff’s deputies stopped a vehicle driven by 41‑year‑old Marysville resident Donald J. Leiterman in Greenbank, Washington, after discovering his driver’s license was suspended and he lacked a required ignition interlock device.

A subsequent inventory and search warrant uncovered a loaded .380‑caliber Beretta Pico pistol with its serial number scratched off, a bandolier of 12‑gauge shotgun shells, a weapon‑mounted flashlight, and a small safe containing substances that tested presumptively positive for methamphetamine and fentanyl. Leiterman was charged on July 31 in Island County Superior Court with second‑degree unlawful possession of a firearm, alteration of identifying marks, driving while license suspended, and violation of ignition‑interlock requirements.
