Donald Trump pledges over $400 million for Republican midterm campaign

Donald Trump announced on Tuesday that he has spent or intends to spend more than $400 million to support Republican candidates in the upcoming midterm elections on November 3. In a post on Truth Social, Trump stated that over $300 million has already been allocated toward advertising, rallies, voter mobilization, and election integrity initiatives.

The announcement comes as polls suggest Democrats may regain control of Congress. Trump framed the expenditure as a commitment to Republican principles, suggesting a GOP victory would prevent domestic unrest similar to recent protests in France.

In a separate announcement during a campaign rally in North Carolina, Trump stated that the Pentagon will invest $1.5 billion in semiconductor production within the state. Additionally, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick announced that the company Sibelco will construct an industrial minerals manufacturing plant in North Carolina to bolster domestic supply chains.
