Donald Trump and Newsmax host comment on Amy Acton campaign ad

Donald Trump and Newsmax host Greg Kelly have commented on a political advertisement featuring the estranged mother of Ohio gubernatorial candidate Amy Acton. The ad includes statements from Acton's mother, who characterizes her daughter as a liar.

During a press interaction, Trump stated that the mother's comments regarding Acton make the candidate ‘fair game’ for political scrutiny. When questioned about reports that Acton's mother remained married to a stepfather who was charged with sexually abusing Acton as a child, Trump indicated he was unaware of the details but maintained that the mother's statements should not be shielded from broadcast.

Newsmax host Greg Kelly also addressed the advertisement, describing it as a potential ‘October surprise’ for the Democratic candidate. Kelly suggested that the public in Ohio and across the country should listen to the mother's claims, noting the significance of a parent making such statements on the eve of an election.
