Donald Trump announces new military weapons testing range in Montana

During a midterm campaign rally in Kalispell, Montana, President Donald Trump announced that the Department of War will establish a new “super range” in the state to test advanced military technologies. The facility is intended to test autonomous weapons, space-based weaponry, and electronic warfare technology, including supersonic and hypersonic systems.

Trump noted that the announcement follows recent government confirmations regarding the existence of on-orbit space control weapons. He also addressed local political pressure regarding the site, jokingly asking Montana politicians to “leave me alone” regarding the project. Senator Tim Sheehy has been a vocal advocate for the facility, having secured $10 million for a feasibility study through the National Defense Authorization Act.
