Donald Trump approval rating hits 33% amid Iran conflict

Donald Trump's approval rating has dropped to 33%, the lowest level of his current presidency, according to a Reuters/Ipsos survey of 1,166 U.S. adults. His disapproval rating stands at 64%.

The decline is attributed to several factors, most notably the ongoing conflict with Iran involving U.S. and Israeli military actions. This conflict has disrupted approximately one-fifth of global oil trade, contributing to rising gasoline prices and economic concerns for American households. Approximately 80% of Americans believe the involvement in Iran will be a long-term engagement.

Additionally, the survey highlights a shift in economic perception. For the first time in nearly a decade, more voters (38%) prefer Democrats to manage the economy compared to Republicans (35%). This shift comes as inflation and fuel costs remain significant concerns for the electorate ahead of the upcoming midterm elections.
