Donald Trump approval rating hits record low at 33 percent

A new poll conducted by Focaldata for the Financial Times shows that Donald Trump’s approval rating has reached a record low, with only 33 percent of Americans expressing satisfaction with his presidential activities. This represents a 3 percentage point decrease in just one month.

The decline is notable across various voter demographics. Among committed Republicans, approval dropped from 81 percent in May to 72 percent. Support among Democrats fell from 7 percent to 4 percent, while independent voter support decreased from 32 percent to 26 percent.

Economic concerns appear to be a primary driver of this dissatisfaction. Nearly two-thirds of respondents believe the US economy is heading in the wrong direction, and 57 percent report that their personal financial situation has worsened since the start of the Trump presidency. Additionally, satisfaction with his economic policies among Republicans fell by 8 percentage points in one month. Relatedly, AAA reported that average diesel fuel prices in the US reached a record high of $5.85 per gallon.
