Donald Trump attacks US National Academies climate guide

President Donald Trump used his Truth Social platform to denounce the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine’s 1,700‑page climate science manual for judges, calling the report “political fraud and false science” and ordering federal officials to review the work. He claimed the guide was “totally discredited,” blamed it for “massive climate change cases” and alleged it caused “huge losses across our Country.”

The National Academies responded that the manual, produced last year and citing the IPCC’s assessment that human activity has warmed the planet, is intended only as a reference tool for judges encountering scientific concepts. A spokesperson said, “The National Academies remain committed to our mission to provide independent, objective scientific advice.” The manual’s climate chapter had previously drawn criticism from some Republican officials, leading the Federal Judicial Center to remove the chapter in February, though the Academies kept it on their website.
