Donald Trump attends Presidents Cup in Illinois

President Donald Trump made his first visit to Illinois since his reelection to serve as the honorary chairman of the Presidents Cup golf tournament at Medinah Country Club. During the event, Trump addressed spectators, stating, “Our country is doing great, better than ever before.”

The visit was marked by contrasting atmospheres. Inside the tournament, attendees largely provided an enthusiastic reception, though the event was occasionally punctuated by profane heckling. Outside the club gates, protesters gathered to demonstrate against the administration’s policies, while supporters assembled to voice their approval.

Security was heavily intensified for the visit. Measures included airport-style screening for spectators, the presence of SWAT officers, and the positioning of security trucks around the course. Reports indicated that a suite with bulletproof glass had been constructed for the president, though he did not utilize it during the proceedings.
