Trump's pro‑crypto remarks spark Bitcoin rebound after Strategy's large sale
MicroStrategy (formerly Strategy) disclosed that it sold about 3,588 Bitcoin worth roughly $216 million between June 29 and July 5, its biggest divestment since it began accumulating the asset. The sale triggered a 2 % drop in Bitcoin’s price, pushing the cryptocurrency toward the $60,000 level.
At a press conference on July 6, U.S. President Donald Trump described himself as “a big crypto guy” and reiterated his support for digital assets. His comments were taken as a positive signal by investors, helping Bitcoin recover to around $63,500–$64,000 on July 7. Analysts noted that Trump’s endorsement has repeatedly moved crypto markets, and the rebound offset the earlier sell‑off caused by MicroStrategy’s transaction. MicroStrategy remains the largest corporate holder of Bitcoin, with about 843,775 BTC, roughly 4 % of the total supply.
