Donald Trump claims Iran involvement in Flydubai attack

U.S. President Donald Trump has stated that he personally believes Iran is responsible for a recent terrorist attack on a Flydubai flight traveling from Dubai to Tel Aviv. The incident involved Omani co-pilot Hamam al-Hammami attacking Captain Smit Machchhar with an axe in the cockpit. Despite severe injuries, Captain Machchhar managed to open the cockpit door, allowing crew and passengers to restrain the attacker. The aircraft subsequently made an emergency landing in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia, with all 180 occupants safe.

While Trump has suggested Iranian involvement, Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio have noted that there is currently no conclusive intelligence linking Tehran to the incident. Vance indicated that the U.S. is reviewing procedures regarding foreign pilots.

In a separate security matter, Trump confirmed that the United States moved B-1 bombers from RAF Fairford in the United Kingdom due to specific threats, which he suggested could be linked to Iran. This follows reports of a suspected drone conspiracy targeting the British airbase.
