Donald Trump casts early midterm ballot in Florida

President Donald Trump cast his ballot for the midterm elections in West Palm Beach, Florida. Arriving at the Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections office with first lady Melania Trump, the president stated he voted along party lines for all Republican candidates in the state.

During his visit, Trump addressed several political and international matters. He defended a controversial advertisement used by Ohio Republican gubernatorial candidate Vivek Ramaswamy and discussed his administration's intent to challenge the certification of the U.S. Senate race in Alaska regarding ballot naming issues. On foreign policy, he commented on the conflict in Iran and noted that Melania Trump recently brokered a ceasefire in the Russian-occupied city of Oleshky to facilitate humanitarian aid and civilian evacuations.

Separately, a federal lawsuit has been filed in New York against President Trump and White House aides, including Chief of Staff Susie Wiles. The suit, filed by the Knight First Amendment Institute and Yale Law School, argues that administration bans on certain media outlets violate the public's First Amendment right to receive independent reporting on the government.
