Donald Trump claims 97% success rate for Republican endorsements
Donald Trump has highlighted his Republican primary endorsement record, claiming a 97% success rate for 2026. According to data shared by Trump, 254 of the 262 candidates he endorsed won their primaries, including 100% of Senate candidates and 98% of House candidates. He noted that his success rate for endorsed candidates has remained at 96% or higher annually from 2018 through 2026.
However, the effectiveness of Trump’s influence is facing a test in upcoming Republican primary runoffs. In Oklahoma, a runoff is set to decide the successor to Governor Kevin Stitt. The race features Gentner Drummond, the current state attorney general, and Mike Mazzei, a former state senator. Despite Trump’s endorsement of Mazzei, Drummond narrowly won the initial primary, leading to a runoff where both candidates are currently deadlocked in polls at approximately 44% each.
