Donald Trump claims ownership of the Moon

U.S. President Donald Trump has claimed ownership of the Moon via a post on his social media platform, Truth Social. In the post, which included an image of the Moon alongside a U.S. flag, he stated, ‘The Moon is ours.’

This claim follows recent posts regarding the U.S. Space Force, including images of new black uniforms. The social media posts have drawn comparisons to the Star Wars empire and sparked online debate regarding future space expansion.

However, the claim appears to conflict with the 1967 Outer Space Treaty. This international agreement, signed by more than 100 countries including the United States, prohibits any nation from claiming sovereignty or ownership over celestial bodies through occupation or any other means.
