Donald Trump claims U.S. economy faces public relations issues
During a campaign tour through Alabama, Oklahoma, and Texas, Donald Trump asserted that the U.S. economy is performing at record levels but suffers from a lack of effective public relations. He claimed that the nation has seen the greatest economic numbers of any presidency in history, despite recent data showing a cooling in overall hiring and wages failing to keep pace with rising consumer prices.
In addition to economic commentary, Trump addressed his physical fitness during a stop in Texas. He claimed to be the healthiest president, citing remarks attributed to former White House physician Rep. Ronny Jackson. This occurred amidst broader discussions regarding the economic lived experience of Americans facing high costs for gas, auto loans, and mortgages.
