However, he was subsequently moved via a catering supply truck to a smaller C-32A military aircraft to ensure his safety.

US intelligence officials reportedly detected a credible threat involving a potential missile attack from Iran. Some reports indicated an individual was spotted with a shoulder-fired missile launcher near the summit site. During the operation, the Secret Service reportedly instructed journalists on the decoy Air Force One to keep their window shades down during takeoff.

Approximately a dozen journalists and White House staff remained on the original Air Force One, unaware that the President had been transferred. Trump stated that the smaller aircraft he used might have actually been at a “greater risk” because it would be the more likely target for attackers.
