Super Intelligence Force established by Trump to coordinate US AI strategy

President Donald Trump has announced the creation of the Super Intelligence Force (SIF), a federal task force designed to coordinate government efforts and ensure United States leadership in advanced technology. The initiative follows an executive order instructing federal agencies to replace the terms 'artificial intelligence' and 'AI' with 'super intelligence' and 'SI'.

Jay Clayton, the Director of National Intelligence, has been appointed to lead the task force. Other notable members include FTC Chairman Andrew Ferguson, Undersecretary of Defense Emil Michael, and Office of Personnel Management Director Scott Kupor. The group is tasked with reporting directly to the President and White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles. The task force has 120 days to produce a report assessing the risks and opportunities of the technology and recommending the federal government's role.

The announcement follows the 'White House Accord on Super Intelligence,' a voluntary agreement signed by executives from Google, Anthropic, Meta, OpenAI, xAI, and Nvidia. This accord establishes industry commitments regarding internal controls, external audits, and board-level oversight, though it remains a self-policing measure rather than a binding regulation.
