President Donald Trump criticized Fox News coverage regarding Iran, labeling a report by correspondent Jonathan Hunt as “particularly inaccurate.” In a post on Truth Social, Trump claimed that while he has no desire to meet with the Iranian regime, the regime is “begging to make a deal.” He also directed Fox News anchor Bret Baier to “straighten out his flunkies.”

Bret Baier defended Hunt on-air, stating that the reporter is a “great reporter” and clarifying that the network did not claim Trump wanted to meet with Iran. Baier noted that the segment actually included a soundbite of Trump stating he did not want to meet and that no negotiations were occurring.

The report further detailed that Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent intends to meet with G20 nations to discuss increasing pressure on Iran, while Gulf allies, including Qatar, are working within Tehran to secure concessions.
