Donald Trump criticizes LeBron James over national anthem conduct

Donald Trump has accused NBA star LeBron James of disrespecting the United States after footage showed James performing warm-up exercises during the national anthem. The footage, which surfaced during a season opener against the New York Knicks, shows the Philadelphia 76ers player moving his body and simulating shooting motions while the anthem played.

Trump characterized James as a “disgrace” and stated that he should apologize to the heroes who sacrificed their lives for the American flag. During a campaign rally in Iowa, the President further described the athlete's behavior as a “kind of scandal.”

LeBron James responded to the criticism with an ironic remark following his team's comeback victory against the Cleveland Cavaliers. When asked about Trump's comments, James stated, “Seems like a quiet day in the office.”
