Donald Trump criticizes Senate for legislative inaction

President Donald Trump has criticized the United States Senate, labeling the institution a “roadblock” that is “killing our country” due to its inability to pass legislation.

Speaking to reporters at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida, Trump addressed his priorities before the new Congress takes its seats following midterm elections where Democrats gained control of both the House and the Senate. He claimed that both Democrats and Republicans are failing to achieve results, noting that Democrats often “vote in a block” while certain Republicans obstruct progress.

Trump expressed hope that Senate Majority Leader John Thune can encourage the chamber to act. He suggested that sending legislation to the Senate often results in the bills dying rather than being processed.
