Donald Trump criticizes Somali and other migrant-origin nations

During recent public appearances, Donald Trump directed disparaging remarks toward Somalia and several other nations from which immigrants originate. At a rally in Perry, Georgia, Trump listed Libya, Yemen, Haiti, and Somalia, referring to them as “shithouse countries.” He expressed a preference for immigrants from Scandinavian nations, specifically stating he would welcome people from Norway, Sweden, and Denmark.

In separate comments made at the White House on October 20, Trump targeted Somalia while discussing Democratic Representative Ilhan Omar. He described Somalia as “not even a country” and used profanity to characterize the nation. He further claimed the country lacks a functioning government, police, or stability, alleging that the primary activity of its people is killing one another and engaging in maritime piracy for ransom.
