Donald Trump denies damage to U.S. aircraft in Iranian missile attacks

President Donald Trump has denied reports that U.S. military aircraft were damaged during recent missile attacks by the Islamic Republic of Iran against a base in Jordan. In an interview with NewsNation, Trump stated, “No. Absolutely not. No damage was done. None.”

These comments address reports from CBS News suggesting that approximately eight F-15 fighters sustained minor damage at the Muwaffaq Salti Air Base, and that one A-10 Thunderbolt aircraft lost a wing during the strikes. While the reports indicated no U.S. casualties, the Jordanian military confirmed its air defense systems intercepted 18 ballistic missiles from Iran, with two others landing in non-residential areas.

The missile strikes followed claims by U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) that five tankers linked to the IRGC were destroyed in response to missile attempts targeting a U.S. warship. CENTCOM has also denied claims of heavy damage to U.S. naval vessels.
