Donald Trump discusses flydubai hijacking attempt with Netanyahu

U.S. President Donald Trump confirmed he spoke with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu regarding an attempted hijacking on a flydubai flight. The aircraft, flight FZ1073, was traveling from Dubai to Tel Aviv when it was forced to make an emergency landing in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia.

Israeli authorities reported that a member of the flight crew attacked the other pilot in the cockpit, attempting to seize control of the aircraft. Netanyahu stated that an Israeli passenger helped neutralize the attacker. Trump praised the actions of an inexperienced passenger who reportedly used knowledge from the television program ‘Air Crash Investigation’ to help stabilize the plane’s controls.

Flydubai confirmed that the aircraft landed safely in Tabuk and all passengers and crew members were unharmed. Saudi authorities have since arrested the suspect, and investigations are ongoing to determine the motives and full circumstances of the incident.
