Donald Trump discusses Iran military confrontation and Strait of Hormuz control

Donald Trump has stated that the military confrontation with Iran may conclude “very soon,” noting that Iran seeks to reach an agreement. While acknowledging that the military operation has lasted longer than he initially anticipated, Trump emphasized that the United States will not allow Tehran to acquire nuclear weapons.

Trump asserted that the United States maintains control over the Strait of Hormuz, a strategic waterway through which approximately 20% of global oil shipments pass. He noted that the military presence aims to secure maritime navigation amidst rising regional tensions.

Additionally, Trump addressed regional instability, suggesting Iran may be responsible for recent attacks on oil pipelines in Saudi Arabia. He also commented on the Houthi movement in Yemen, stating they do not desire military confrontation with the United States, and touched upon U.S. efforts regarding the situation in Gaza and hostage negotiations.
