Donald Trump discusses strategy regarding Iran and Russia

Donald Trump has addressed the United States' approach toward Iran and its relationship with Russia. Speaking at the White House, Trump stated that the U.S. is performing well regarding Iran but must decide whether to achieve victory through “kind” or “unkind” methods.

In a social media post, Trump claimed that Russia provides very little assistance to Iran, if any, compared to what it is capable of doing. He noted that he is currently negotiating peace in the Russia-Ukraine war and does not want to take actions that would cause Russia to leave the negotiating table. He also criticized Ukrainian President Zelenskyy for targeting Russian fuel refineries, arguing such attacks harm the global diesel market, including the United States.

These comments follow a phone call between Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, during which Netanyahu emphasized that the U.S. and Israel have “unfinished business” regarding Iran that they must complete together. Additionally, reports indicate the U.S. Department of War is deploying the aircraft carrier Theodore Roosevelt and a Marine unit to the Middle East.
