Trump and Kremlin deny Russian plans to attack NATO territory
Donald Trump has stated that Russian President Vladimir Putin will not attack NATO territory, following a surprise visit to Moscow by CIA Director John Ratcliffe. Trump described the meeting between Ratcliffe and Russian intelligence chief Sergey Naryshkin as a routine professional engagement, denying reports that the visit was intended to deliver a specific warning against attacking NATO members.
The Kremlin has also denied any plans to attack NATO, with spokesperson Dmitri Peskov dismissing reports of such intentions as horror stories that do not reflect Russian reality. However, tensions have escalated following the United Kingdom's decision to provide Ukraine with classified technology to produce long-range Storm Shadow missiles.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova issued a stern warning to London, stating that British military facilities in Ukraine and elsewhere could become targets in response to Ukrainian strikes using British weaponry. She accused the UK, France, and Germany of playing a destructive role in the conflict. Meanwhile, European intelligence services have reported finding no evidence of an imminent Russian attack against NATO members.
