Donald Trump executes nearly 29,000 securities trades since returning to office

Since returning to office in January 2025, President Donald Trump has executed nearly 29,000 securities trades, a volume that exceeds the combined total of all 535 members of Congress. Financial disclosures indicate an average of approximately 80 trades per market day.

Trump’s portfolio, which exceeds $7 billion across eight investment accounts, shows a significant shift from the illiquid real estate holdings of his first term toward heavy allocations in the technology sector and cryptocurrency. He is noted as the only U.S. president this century to disclose active trading in individual stocks.

While the high volume of trades has drawn scrutiny regarding policy influence and potential conflicts of interest, the White House has denied accusations of improper conduct, stating that his stock portfolio is managed independently.
