Donald Trump expresses distrust in politics regarding Netanyahu
US President Donald Trump stated on Thursday that he ‘doesn’t trust anybody’ in the world of politics when asked specifically about his trust in Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Despite this remark, Trump described his relationship with Netanyahu as ‘very good’ and characterized their military partnership against Iran as ‘very successful.’
Trump noted that the joint military operations between the United States and Israel have significantly weakened the military capabilities and leadership of Tehran. Regarding Israel’s upcoming election on October 27, Trump indicated that Israeli officials have expressed interest in his involvement, though he has not yet endorsed a candidate. He claimed that if he were to run for prime minister, he would receive ‘99%’ of the Israeli vote.
The comments come amid a history of both cooperation and tension between the two leaders. While Netanyahu has frequently highlighted his close ties to Trump, the two have experienced periods of disagreement, including reported friction regarding the conduct of the war against Iran and an Israeli strike in Beirut in June 2026.
