Donald Trump expresses mild view of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez at Michigan rally

During a campaign rally in Michigan at the McMorran Place Sports & Entertainment Center, Donald Trump made an unexpected remark regarding Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. While addressing a crowd in support of Michigan Senate candidate Mike Rogers, Trump stated that he does not mind the New York Democrat as much as other progressive lawmakers, noting, “Somehow I don’t mind AOC that much. I don’t know why, she doesn’t bug me too much.”

This comment contrasted with his sharper criticisms of other members of the progressive group known as “the Squad.” Trump targeted Representative Ilhan Omar of Minnesota, calling her a “troublemaker” and criticizing her background and political stances. He also used the phrase “AOC plus three” to refer to the group of progressive representatives, though he distinguished Ocasio-Cortez from her colleagues during his remarks.
