Donald Trump faces criticism over Middle East policies amid Iran and Gaza crises

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken told Arab‑American broadcaster Al‑Manar that President Donald Trump is "trapped in a dead end" of his own making in the unprovoked war with Iran, blaming the U.S. withdrawal from the 2015 nuclear accord and a string of nightly strikes that killed 55 civilians and wounded more than 640. Blinken warned that the strategy endangers American forces stationed across the Gulf region.

Separately, Arab League Secretary‑General Nabil Fahmy urged Trump to curb what he called the "extremist ambitions" of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and to push forward the 20‑point peace plan for Gaza. Fahmy said the United States must hold Israel accountable for delaying reconstruction and for actions that could undermine the peace initiative.

Both statements highlight growing pressure on the Trump administration to reassess its approach to the Middle East, particularly regarding Iran’s regional activities and the stalled Gaza peace process.
