Donald Trump faces lawsuit after revoking White House press access

In a statement on Truth Social, Trump characterized his actions not as an attack on the free press, but as a fight against ‘fake news’ which he described as spreading ‘like a cancer’ in the United States. He asserted that this phenomenon is coordinated, corrupt, and out of control, necessitating immediate intervention.

In response, CNN, MSNBC, and Politico have filed a joint lawsuit in federal court. The media organizations argue that the revocation of their access violates the First Amendment, which protects freedom of speech and the press. They contend that the government should not have the authority to determine what media outlets report or publish, warning that such measures threaten the public's right to independent journalism.
